Adults living with congenital heart disease comprise a rapidly expanding population of heart disease patients. This virtual cardiac nursing seminar will gather leaders from the medical field to discuss care and treatment of ACHD, its unique challenges, and the importance of getting these patients into specialized CHD centers. There are approximately 1.3 million adult patients in United States, which exceeds the number of children living with congenital heart defects. With hospitalization rates and care utilization rates of this group on the rise, this complex patient requires specialized and coordinated care offered by cardiologists and cardiac care nurses.
“It is vital that knowledge of caring for Congenital Heart Defect patients continues to grow, so we are thrilled to be hosting the Virtual Cardiac Nursing Seminar as part of our Expanding the Medical World™ education program to discuss the importance of specialized CHD treatment and care,” said Eric Ankerud, CEO, President, and Co-Founder of Heartfelt Dreams Foundation. “We believe that nurses are key in making a difference in delivering extraordinary care for the unique needs of CHD patients. We are very excited to have such an esteemed panel from the Mass General Heart Center sharing their expertise on treating CHD.”
