Nonprofit dedicated to advancing treatment and education for congenital heart defects will award a $5,000 Grant to a deserving hospital-based advanced cardiology fellow
Hollis, NH (December 13, 2021) – Heartfelt Dreams Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the treatment experience for congenital heart defect (CHD) patients and their families is proud to announce its Advanced Cardiology Fellows Grant that will award $5,000 in financial assistance to a deserving advanced cardiology fellow as they pursue medical training in cardiology and critical care skills to better treat congenital heart defect patients.
The Heartfelt Dreams Foundation created the annually awarded grant in support of the education, time, money, and commitment that comes with medical school and professional development. Cardiology Fellows who wish to apply for the Heartfelt Dreams Foundation Advanced Cardiology Fellows Grant are invited to complete the online application. The competitive application process is now open for the 2022 grant award. A foundation committee will review applications and determine the winner of the grant to be announced in July 2022.
“Heartfelt Dreams Foundation is proud to support advanced cardiology fellows as they pursue careers in cardiology and further their specialized training in congenital heart disease,” said Eric Ankerud, JD, CEO, President, and Co-Founder of Heartfelt Dreams Foundation. “These are the cardiologists of tomorrow, and it is vital to provide them with the highest caliber of education and resources. By aiding advanced cardiology fellows, we can make a difference in the long-term delivery of quality healthcare for congenital heart defect patients.”
The Heartfelt Dreams Foundation Advanced Cardiology Fellows Grant was created to support the training in cardiovascular medicine to better care for CHD patients. Through decades of medical and surgical treatment, specialized cardiologists have played a critical role in the care and treatment for Heartfelt Dreams Foundation Co-Founder, Lori Ankerud’s complex CHD condition. Grant recipients will be making that same difference in providing quality healthcare for congenital heart defect patients.
“We are touched daily by the support of Heartfelt Dreams Foundation for our patients,” said Ami Bhatt, MD, Director of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program at Massachusetts General Hospital. “Now, that support is extending to the next generation of clinician caregivers for adults with congenital heart disease. The Advanced Cardiology Fellows Grant will provide unique support for ACHD Fellows to take the time to pursue the aspects of medicine, science and care delivery which are their passion and will likely fuel them to change the field of ACHD over time.”
Heartfelt Dreams Foundation strives to see every CHD patient lead a long, healthy and meaningful life. The Foundation is committed to facilitating greater access to care and treatment for CHD patients of all ages and strengthens the network of specialty heart centers and physicians across the country.
