About Our Scholarship

Heartfelt Dreams Foundation is pleased to be able to provide financial assistance to very deserving cardiac nurses as they pursue advancing their careers in nursing to better care for congenital heart defect patients. Through years of medical and surgical treatment of Lori Ankerud’s tetralogy of Fallot condition, nurses have played a critical role in her recovery. From handling the many tubes and wires to providing the hard to find ice cream in a cardiac critical care unit, we appreciate what nurses do to make a patient’s life better. Heartfelt Dreams Foundation will proudly work to increase access to quality healthcare for congenital heart defect patients by promoting professional development of nurses through recognition and scholarships.

Heartfelt Dreams Foundation Academic Nursing Scholarship

Heartfelt Dreams Foundation understands that education takes time, money, and commitment. We believe that our scholarship recipients will be making a genuine difference in the delivery of quality healthcare for congenital heart defect patients. The Heartfelt Dreams Foundation Academic Nursing Scholarship has been created to further the development of cardiac nurses in hospitals throughout the country with scholarships that will support the applicants’ goals to advance their nursing careers.

Financial Support

Thanks to the generous charitable donations from people and organizations that support Heartfelt Dreams Foundation, our goal is to award this annual scholarship as we strive to promote quality cardiac nursing care for congenital heart defect patients. We hope that you will consider supporting our Foundation’s academic scholarship.

Application Process

Each academic year, Heartfelt Dreams Foundation will award a $5,000 scholarship to a deserving hospital-based cardiac care nurse or nursing student pursuing a career in cardiac care based on a competitive application process. Nurses or nursing students wishing to apply for the Heartfelt Dreams Foundation Academic Nursing Scholarship are invited to complete the Application Form below, and include a current version of your resume, before the posted deadline. Applications will be reviewed by a Foundation committee and the scholarship winner will be announced on our website.

Please note that applications are now being accepted for the 2024 academic nursing scholarship through September 30, 2024. The scholarship winner will be announced in October 2024.
